I’ve just finished reading Seven Years to Seven Figures by Michael Masterson. I’ll start by saying that I went in expecting a disappointing read based on reviews on Amazon, but found myself walking away with good information after some good introspection led by the stories in the book.

As a brief, the book describes the stories of eight people who work their way from nothing to between one and nine million dollars in net worth in less than seven years. On the surface, the stories seem shallow and the information about how to get there seems common sense.

In rereading the book though, I looked at each story from a different perspective. I stopped reading the author’s recital of well know rhetoric, and I started looking at the quotes and stories of the people who were written about in the book. I looked at what motivated them, and as I read through each story I tried to understand what kept them going, what pushed them forward and tried to understand how they maintained.

For most of them a change was necessary, and as we all know necessity is the mother of all invention. These people stepped out of their comfort zones and become what they needed to become to expand their lives and achieve their goals, and did so in a very short period of time.

If you are interested in the book, it can be picked up at Amazon, for less than $10. If you decide to read the book, look deeply at the people, and try to understand what they were after, and how they achieved it, instead of focusing on the obvious presented by Michael Masterson. Overall I rate this book highly, and I believe it contains material which could help nearly anyone make a transition toward building wealth.
